Upstart Jugglers

This album features a piece specially commissioned by Mr McFall's Chamber - Nocturnes by Eddie McGuire. The composer's mind was being impinged upon by bombing in Yugoslavia just as he was asked to write the piece. Then he met Natasa Srdic - who had practiced during bombing in Novi Sad and travelled to Edinburgh to win a piano competition. He wrote a piece for her to take back - 'Nocturne for Novi Sad' - and then developed his new ensemble piece from that, adding three more nocturne-like pieces. The instrumentation is string quartet, double bass, percussion and piano.
